LIFE ABOARD TIVOLI

Long Winter

It’s been a long winter.  Not that I’m complaining.  Winters in south Florida are just fine.  It’s just that life gets in the way of cruising sometimes.  We had planned on spending a couple months in the Bahamas; it’s been two years since we’ve been there.  Alas, a knee problem had me hobbling around for a couple months and the challenge of finding new doctors in Florida sucked up more time than we hoped.  So, the Bahamas are off the list and we are looking forward to heading to the Canadian Maritimes once again in mid-May.  The upside is we’ve managed to get loads of boat projects done; Tivoli is in top-notch condition.  It is fun to finally get “nice to have” projects done instead of “must do” projects. We’ve also had a wonderful time visiting with our boat friends, old and new.

As you can see from the photo of Tivoli at Harbour Isle Marina in Ft. Pierce, we are no longer dependent on friends with drones for aerial views of Tivoli and the spectacular scenery she frequents; we invested in a DJI Mavic Pro and have been slowly learning to fly and photograph using this marvelous technology.  We are looking forward to getting back to the fjords in Newfoundland, exploring the wild coast of Labrador and perhaps spotting an iceberg or two.

So what is the plan? We are enjoying gulf coast this season and heading around Bahamas next spring. Make sure to let us know where you are so we can recap over cocktails!
